Premium chauffeur service is a regulated business. Here's exactly what credentials sit behind every Top One Limo ride — and why it matters.
City of Toronto Vehicle-for-Hire Owner Licence
City of Toronto Municipal Licensing & Standards (TPH)
Mandatory licence to operate a limousine business in the City of Toronto. Renewed annually with safety inspections and clean driver abstract.
City of Toronto Vehicle-for-Hire Driver Licence
City of Toronto Municipal Licensing & Standards (TPH)
Required for every chauffeur operating in Toronto. Includes background check, criminal record check, and third-party vehicle-for-hire training.
GTAA Pearson Pre-Arranged Ground Transportation Operator
Greater Toronto Airports Authority
Authorizes pre-arranged pickups at Pearson Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 curbs. Required for legal airport pickups; ad-hoc operators are not permitted.
$5,000,000 Commercial General Liability Insurance
Commercial insurance carrier
Premium-tier liability coverage. The Ontario statutory minimum is $200,000 — most fleets advertise $2M; Top One carries $5M. Certificate of insurance available on request.
Why this matters
Anyone with a car can call themselves a chauffeur. Not everyone has the paperwork. The wrong choice can cost you your insurance coverage in an accident, your standing at Pearson if you're picked up by an unlicensed operator, and your peace of mind on a wedding day.
Top One Limo carries every credential a GTA executive chauffeur is supposed to carry — and a couple (the $5M liability, the GTAA pre-arranged registration) that go beyond the minimum.
Need a copy of the certificate of insurance for a corporate account or a venue requirement? Email ali@toponelimo.ca — typical turnaround is the same business day.
